Death Stranding is going to be out in full force at the Tokyo Game Show 2019 this month, with creator Hideo Kojima confirming that his studio will be showcasing not one, but two mammoth 50-minute gameplay sessions at the event. This is most likely the last time we’ll get a major look at Death Stranding prior to its release in November.
Death Stranding Gameplay Sessions Confirmed For TGS 2019
The Kojima Productions-developed action title will be released exclusively for Sony’s current-generation console on November 8. Kojima-san revealed this week that Death Stranding will support multiple difficulty settings, including a Very Easy option for inexperienced gamers.
Death Stranding will also feature a first-person view mode, although Kojima has stressed that the game is not a first-person shooter. Indeed, that’s abundantly clear from just looking at the game in action.
The game will also support multiplayer features, but Kojima is keeping that under wraps for the time being. However, he has compared the premise to that of Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse, and Geoff Keighley reckons we’re not ready for what the Metal Gear creator has in store.
Death Stranding is powered by the Decima Engine, which also powered Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn, so it’s definitely a looker.
Death Stranding will feature an all-star cast including Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale). Kojima revealed that prior to Mikkelsen’s casting he was recommended Keanu Reeves, but the Metal Gear creator was adamant about getting the Danish actor on board the project.
