Project Resistance Gameplay Reveals Full Match

Capcom has polished off some fresh gameplay footage of Resident Evil spin-off Project Resistance, showcasing a full match in action.

In case you missed it, Project Resistance sees four players attempting to escape a test zone somewhere in Raccoon City, but their progress is impeded by the mysterious Mastermind, who can unleash various hazards including zombies, lickers, and Mr. X.

Project Resistance Gameplay Revealed

Check out the gameplay below.

Project Resistance is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, with Capcom planning a beta for the game next month. Despite its focus on multiplayer, the game will also include a narrative-based mode for those who want to simply experience the story.

Here’s more info via Capcom:

In each four-versus-one match, one Mastermind player tracks the four Survivors through a network of security cameras, staying one step ahead at every turn to prevent their escape. The Mastermind plots a deadly course by wielding a strategic deck of cards to create dangerous obstacles for the Survivors, such as summoning vicious creatures, setting traps, manipulating the environment, and weaponizing security cameras. He or she can also directly control zombies in play.

In addition, Mastermind players can even step into the trench coat of the towering, deadly Tyrant for the first time in franchise history. In turn, the Survivors must cooperatively work together as a team to fend off the Mastermind’s attacks and complete puzzle style mission objectives to escape the map before time runs out. Each Survivor possesses unique skills to help their team overcome the Mastermind’s challenges and survive the sinister experiment.

Capcom is already planning a Resident Evil 8, but it’s highly doubtful that will be released for current-generation platforms. The Japanese video game maker is also rumoured to be working on a full remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, but nothing official has been confirmed yet.

Resident Evil launched back in 1996 and is Capcom’s best-selling franchise to date, with over 91 million units sold worldwide.
