Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Challenger Pack 4 may introduce an SNK character to the mascot brawler’s roster, according to the downloadable content’s since-removed page on Nintendo of Europe’s website.

First spotted by PushDustin, the page had carried a copyright mark for SNK Corporation – the Japanese developer behind classic series such as Metal Slug, Samurai Shodown, and The King of Fighters.

Challenge Pack 4 in #SmashBrosUltimate will apparently be a character from SNK.

There’s always the chance that it could be a straightforward mistake, but, with the recent rumor about an upcoming Nintendo Direct this week, many believe that a button had been clicked somewhere at Nintendo of Europe ahead of schedule.

Joker, Hero, and Banjo and Kazooie have been revealed as part of Nintendo’s plans for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass, which, post-launch up until February 2020, had promised to deliver five characters, five stages, and multiple music tracks as downloadable content.

While this content can be bought individually as five packs (£5.39 / €5.99), the Fighters Pass bundles them together at a slight discount (£22.49 / €24.99).
