The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut Retail Release Set For PS4

inXile Entertainment has announced that The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut will be hitting retailers in Europe on September 6 and the US on October 11. Unlike the original digital release of The Bard’s Tale IV, the Director’s Cut version of the critically acclaimed RPG includes various enhancements, including an updated Unreal Engine that ensures the game looks and plays better than ever.

The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut also comes equipped with various features, fixes, and new content, and is described in the press blurb as the definitive edition of the game. Furthermore, the physical version of The Bard’s Tale IV adds the following content:

  • In-game items:
  • Fire Horn
  • Kael’s Axe
  • Red Boots
  • Bardic Brian Skin & Booty

The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut’s physical release will retail for £34.99/$39.99 and is available to grab digitally now via the Playstation Store, Steam, and Xbox Game Pass.

The Bard’s Tale IV packs in over 50 hours of gameplay, and includes 350 speaking parts, a Legacy Mode for long-time fans, and a roaring soundtrack featuring over 100 pieces of music.

Playerswill have the chance to shape their character to play how they see fit, with choices ranging from a Bard, Fighter, Practitioner, and Rogue, each coming equipped with 60-70 skills and 21 unique classes. As such, every playthrough can offer a unique experience when using all available characters.

While you’ll start alone, players will be given the opportunity to create and recruit new characters to swell your ranks, building a party that caters to your play style. In addition, those with a eye for adventure can explore towns ripe with quest givers, battle through dark dungeons, and stroll through rolling hills, dense forests, tombs, and wastelands.

The Bard’s Tale IV was originally released for the PC in September 2018.
