Potential The Simpsons: Hit & Run PS4 Remake Has The Blessing Of The Original Dev

Simpsons Hit and Run PS4

One of the best selling titles of the PS2 era, licensed effort The Simpsons: Hit & Run effectively opened up an avenue into the sort of open-world exploits that Rockstar Games had pioneered for years prior, in such a way that kids and teens alike could get stuck into. Well now, it would appear that one of the original producers on the 2003 release is keen to see a remake of the 16-year old title.

In an interview with LADbible, producer Vlad Ceraldi said:

“I could see it on multiple different types of platforms as a remake or remaster. It would have to take the parties who are in charge of the property to want that to happen and someone out there to decide that they were going to go out and do it. But absolutely, it would be fun to explore those characters and that universe again, that work again.”

While it’s good to know that the game hasn’t left the consciousness of the original folk who worked on it, the actual likelihood of The Simpsons: Hit & Run being remade or re-released in any form is somewhat slim. Not least owing to the absolute web of licensing issues that must be worked out, given that the original publisher Sierra has long since folded and that the IP now belongs to Disney, as a result of the recent Disney/Fox super-merger.

What do you guys think about a potential remake of The Simpsons: Hit & Run? Would you go for it, or is the whole thing a little too Krusty for you to consider? Let us know in the comments below.
